Bring a book and get ready to mingle
Do you have an old learning & development book on your shelf that you’d love to share with others? Maybe it’s dog-eared and marked up with notes – and is that a coffee ring on page 86? If you’re done with it but you think it would be valuable for other L&D professionals to read, here’s your chance to trade it in for someone else’s well-loved book.
Come down to the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra (VSO) School of Music (details below) on November 24 for the Institute of Performance and Learning’s (IPL) first-ever Book Nook Event, featuring guest speaker Dan Pontefract. Dan is an award-winning speaker, author and Chief Envisioner at the TELUS Transformation Office. He speaks frequently on engagement, purpose, culture, collaboration and leadership, and has given several TEDx talks.
The event is $15 for IPL members ($30 for non-members) – plus a book. So grab that old book of yours and get ready for an evening of networking, inspirational ideas, and book talk with your peers. Maybe you’ll even come home with a new(ish) book to love.
