Social learning has been recognized by the Conference Board of Canada as a key learning and development theme, and this month’s Learn @ Work Week Cracker Barrel Event is a terrific opportunity for us to put it into practice. Institute for Performance and Learning (IPL) members and non-members can mingle, enjoy light refreshments, enter prize draws, and share valuable information about the work we do as learning professionals.

This friendly evening starts with a half-hour of networking followed by introductions, then the Cracker Barrel Information Sharing begins, with learning professionals hosting informal table chats. Limestone’s own Stephanie Jutras will be leading one of these conversations – a discussion of different tools that can be used to harness social learning.

The event is a great opportunity for learning professionals to collaborate, network, share stories of creativity, and empathize with the highs and lows of creating and designing training. The cost is $35 for Institute members and $50 for non-members. It’s happening September 22 at 5:15pm at the 3rd Floor UX Classroom, Red Academy (1490 West Broadway).
